President’s Message – March 2015
Dear Business Colleagues and Neighbors,
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
“May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire.” –Irish Blessing
I am writing this column on President’s Day. A nice three day weekend… only to awaken to snow on the ground again. If I could only get my hands on Punxsutawney Phil… it wouldn’t be pretty.
Is your business getting the community exposure needed for your success? Are you a Punxsutaweny Phil? Coming out only once a year meeting with local businesses and the community? Well now’s a good time to change that. In addition to our monthly general meetings, Chamber plans are underway for business/community events. For starters — our Annual Heart & Soul Dinner Dance in May, BBQ on Lake Ronkonkoma in July, Celebrity Softball in August, and a soon to be announced community event. Stay tuned…. This is going to be BIG!
March 8th is the 25th Annual Knights of Columbus Ronkonkoma St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Chamber has hired a trolley for those who wish to ride in the parade rather than walk. A seat is $20.00. If you are interested please call 737-0489 and reserve your seat. Everyone’s Irish on St. Paddy’s Day — so put on your green and come out and see the parade!
Our Chamber membership continues to grow. If you are not a member, please visit the Chamber website at www.ronkonkomachamber.com and join today! We are always looking for member participation to help coordinate and volunteer at the many Chamber of Commerce events, as well as new and innovative events to promote our business community year long. So if you have an idea, please let us know.
That’s it for now. Hang in there, Spring is around the corner!
And remember… small businesses are crucial to New York’s recovery. Use local businesses whenever you can.
Till next month,
President, Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce
