Chamber President’s Message
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I step into my new role as President of the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce. As a lifelong member of this community, a local business owner, and someone raising my two young nephews right here in Ronkonkoma, this town means more to me than just where I live — it’s truly home.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Chamber’s board as Marketing Chair, where I’ve dedicated countless hours to helping plan, promote, and grow events that bring our community together while shining a spotlight on the incredible small businesses that make Ronkonkoma thrive.
Over eighteen years ago, I started Union Square Advertising out of my apartment as a one-man operation. Today, that small dream has grown into a full-service marketing agency with a team of 16 talented professionals, proudly managing the marketing needs of over 80 Long Island businesses — right here on Hawkins Avenue. That journey has taught me the power of perseverance, teamwork, and community — the same values I want to continue fostering through our Chamber.
As we look ahead to 2026, my focus is on growth and unity — creating opportunities for local businesses to succeed, supporting our families and residents, and building stronger connections that make Ronkonkoma a place we’re all proud to call home.
I’m honored to serve as your President and look forward to an exciting, successful year ahead for our Chamber and our entire community.

History of Ronkonkoma
The Indians considered the waters of Lake Ronkonkoma sacred. Four of the thirteen tribes on Long Island shared its shoreline. These tribes were the Setaukets, the Nissequogues, the Secatogs and the Unkechaugs. Evidence of when the first Indians visited the lake is sketchy, but the activity of the Indians in the Ronkonkoma area is perhaps best evidenced by the vast collection of arrowheads and other stone weapons that have been gathered within the radius of a few miles of the lake. Many of the present legends about the lake derive from these local Indian tribes, The Secatogs, Unkechaugs, Setaukets, and Nissequogues, who utilized the shores of the lake. It is thought that the name Ronkonkoma, which in the Algonquin language means boundary fishing place, was chosen as a logical name by the Indians for this body of water.
